Day 23

The weather was outrageous today. It was raining very heavily and the wind was strong. Heard that the wind speed was 150km/h? Crazy right? Thank goodness i didn't have to go to school today! I only had to look out my window to see how harsh the rains were. The trees were shaking so violently and the wind speed indicator was spinning like nobody's business. You could even see the direction the rain was going! and it's not going straight down or at an angle downwards.. they're going horizontally! that's how fierce the wind was..

My day was spent reading my econs book. Sianz.. You know what went through my mind as i was reading it? I must be crazy! i dropped econs back in JC1 and here i am..doing econs AGAIN! But you know what pisses me even more? I'm just going through the first 2 topics - introduction to econs and the economic problem but i had to read 52 pages of it! i wonder how many pages the other topics would have? GOSH..

i'm so nervous.. tmr's my 1st day of lesson. i hope i'll be able to cope.. seriously, i haven't touched school books for more than 1/2 yr. But this is not what bothers me the most. i haven't done accounting, legal framework or business information systems before! well..at least i covered a little econs. but that doesn't mean i'll get through it cos' i dropped out of it remember??? i'm scared. i glanced through the business information systems and i went like "CRAP....it's computer language!!!" It's totally alien to me ah! mmm not really, i did java programming back in secondary school but nothing went into my head. You know how i got through the IT program the last time? i copied other people's IT assignment.. SSShhhh.. very bad hor? Hehe.. ;p

I had the funniest conversation with my friend just 2 days back.. it's about blog skins. by the way, eeeeuuuuuwwww is me.. haha. mmm the other person is self-explanatory..=p hey bong.. if you're reading this, don't get offended hor. i just found it very funny that i had to put it up.

Actually..he wasn't the only person who was blur.. i was too.. it's just that i'm faster and more *wicked-according to him* to realise that. LOL..

Aiyoh.. stop raining le.. The rain here cannot be compared to s'pore's. I was never afraid of the rain when i was in singapore. Not even the the thunder or lightning can scare me.. But over here.. i'm dead scared of it.. Wish i can just -mute- the sounds of the rain and wind here..

Haiz.. i gotta go back to my econs book. If not i'll be lost when they start lecturing. There's actually quite a lot of things they have to cover in those 2 topics. i wonder how they're going to do it in 1 hr.. If i was back in JC, it'd be split into more than 2 topics. Guess in university they compress everything.. So straining on the brain.. Aiz..

2nd episode of my cousin's gross-ness.. i think this is even more eerie than yesterday's "drama" ah!

While washing the dishes, he suddenly asked if he could speak to me one-to-one. My sister was around too.. Apparently, he didn't want her to hear it. Beats me then.. After we retreated to our room, he came into our room when i was applying lotion to my legs. The weather can be damn dry here..

You know what he said to me? "Charmaine.. do you know something? I actually imagined you naked in the bathroom."

EEeeuuuuWWWW! i suddenly felt so "exposed"!!! even though my pants were just up to my knee. Sick guy.. So young already have such dirty thoughts..i better be watchful of him. Yikes!

Day 20

Actually there wasn't anything for me to blog today. But something REALLY gross happened after dinner. Oh my gosh! i'm blind now..

I just finished cleaning up after dinner. My aunt asked us what we would like for breakfast tomorrow. Then, she asked me to go ask my cousin jason what he would like. I was walking to the computer room when i heard a scream from my cousin selina. The next minute, i was looking at jason's butt! He just FLASHED!

Well.. at least i wasn't facing the front.. Selina was.. LOL.. I should be thankful=) I've got a flasher at home! A small one too..who's merely 8 years old. No wonder they said australia's not as safe as S'pore. Haha.. just kidding.. Oh gross.. i hope he outgrows this habit of his. Looks like selina wasn't the only one who saw his willy before. My sister has.. During the 4 months she has been here. She says it's common to see him pull down his pants, especially when he gets high. I'm just another one of his victims. Oh, bless my soul LOL..

Day 19

Help me! I don't wanna get out of bed! It was unusually cold this morning. The blanket's SOOOO warm..so tempting to just go back to sleep. I had to place the heater in front of me to change out of my home clothes into outing ones. Can you imagine?

The weather was so cold outside that the bus had mist on it's interior panes. This gal.. ok not gal.. she's about 20 plus yrs old i think. Guess what was she doing? Using her finger to draw a face on the panes! Even i don't do that.. Wahaha! or maybe i do.. when nobody's looking, that is..She drew 2 eyes, sharp teeth, then the outlines of a skull, a dot as a nose, followed by a few strands of hair and jagged eyebrows. Feeling bored again, she added one more dot to make it 2 nostrils. Then, WRINKLES under the eyes! aiyoh.. i see her draw i can't stop laughing to myself. So hilarious!

Made a couple more friends today during the business orientation seminar. Not bad huh? Firstly, there's daisy. She's from Taiwan. She has studied here for 3 yrs now. Her english's not bad too. Only she and her siblings are here. Her parents are not intending to come here cos' they don't speak english? Only mandarin. Haha..Then there was Mei Yun from Malaysia. Hey, dun *play play* hor.. she studied computer science last semester. Eeeks! I suck in IT! She's switching course to commerce this semester. Mmm but she's only doing 3 of my units. And there's Brenda and Tien. Don't know anything about them except their names. LOL..

I didn't think i would make anymore friends after the seminar but i did! While making my way to the 2nd hand bookshop to get my stuff, i met Jenny. She's from Shanghai. Studying 2 of my units.. Heyz! why didn't i meet anyone from Australia or America? Or even S'pore for that matter! Haha.. S'pore education too good le.. Who would wanna come here? Oh... i just realised something as well. They're all gals.. No guys! except jason.. haha.. that one not counted cos' i knew him already. Jenny's 22 yrs old and she speaks chinese to ME! That means i've to converse with her in CHINESE! Aiyoh.. i don't know why i always have a fear of speaking chinese whenever i'm talking to someone who is good in it. Maybe cos' i feel inferior? And she just added to my fear when she said i MUST show her friend and her around S'pore when she comes over for holidays on the 25 Nov. Guess what? i'm coming back on the 24th. With no rest after that cos' she'll be staying for 4 days! How am i going to bring her around on a tour when my chinese is below standard? Anyone interested in coming along with me? Heex.. You get my hint.. ;p By the way, she wants to see Sentosa and Little India.. Little India? Huh??? That didn't cross my mind at all. Only night safari=)

Lunch was just 2 slices of bread with a thin slice of ham as well as lettuce and sliced tomatoes. Sandwich will be my lunch from wed-fri. Cool right? Haha.. if ya wanna slim down. Not that i wanna slim down but i have no choice. Nobody's cooking lunch and meals outside are just UNREASONABLY on the high side.. Anyways, my sister has sandwich for lunch every single day cos' she only finishes school at 5. well.. i'm much better off than her at least. Mon and Tue i can have rice for lunch. Food from dinner the day before i mean.. Plus my timetable rocks! i don't have school on monday. i only need to attend a 1 hr lecture on tue. Wed's 9-12. oh thur's 9-5! Fri-2hrs of tutorials. That makes it only 12 hrs a wk.. Shiok man! I like Jordain's timetable the most though. He only has to go to school from tue-thur.

Gosh.. I just spent a bomb on my school books. It cost me A$500! These books are only for this semester lea. Sch fees already cost me A$3708 for this semester. That means my parents have to fork out approximately A$9000 per year! Haiz.. my dad has lotsa white hair already and he still has to work harder..

i couldn't get a single 2nd hand book. Even if i did, the quality was very bad. There were scribblings and highlightings all over the book. For this quality, i wouldn't mind if the book was going at half-price. But NOOOOO... all the books there are sold at 33% lower than the original price. Siao ar! Like that, i'd rather get new ones. Haha.. Anyway, i also didn't have any luck in finding books that i need in the 2nd hand store. Guess they were all snatched up already..Oh well..

Day 17

You know what today spells? Exactly 4 more months to my return! Yea.. Haa..i'm already dying here. I don't even know whether i can last till end november. i'm starting to miss everyone..

Oh! i forgot.. i took photos of the mother mary adoration area and stain glass last sunday when i went to church. Really pretty don't you think?

I went to school today for orientation. Practically just a waste of time! They said if we didn't turn up, we'd miss a lot of important details. Like real.. There wasn't any details in the beginning. Huh! Going to school was the hardest.. There was rain.. and what i fear most-WIND! i think any sane person would be able to tell my body was shaking real badly from the cold. Shucks.. i even had to grit my teeth. no.. if i didn't grit it, my mouth would be shakin! Haha.. Now that would have looked terrible. And when i was shivering uncontrollably, guess what i saw at the bus stop next to mine? A girl wearing spaghetti strap! Damn she's good.. Well, i'm not as tough as her.. i had to pull out my scarf.

The orientation wasn't as bad as i thought. I met a gal from hong kong. Her name is Suky. Cute right? She's about the same size as me, just slightly taller. The problem is she doesn't look like her age at all. Guess what? She's 25 years old!!! Doing her masters in accounting. She actually completed her degree back in hong kong, after which she worked for 1 year before coming here to do her masters. Cool right? Her english's not bad too. Too bad i can't converse with her in cantonese or mandarin (psst..my chinese isn't that fluent remember?) Haiz.. sadly she won't be in any of my classes cos' she's a postgraduate=( But i'm glad enough that i've found someone to talk to during my orientation. Thanks to him, my prayers are answered=)

I've even better luck! i thought i saw someone familiar during the campus tour. Thanks to my super memory of people! Haha.. did i tell ya i can still remember how my nursery friends look like? One of them is shawn. shawn ignatius rodrigues..And can u imagine? He was in the same class as me in PJ during the first 3 months of JC. i mean.. people change with time. So it's quite impossible to recognise them after a very long time. Well, he changed a lot, in terms of looks but i could sorta recognise him! Wao..i'm good hehe..he couldn't remember me though.

Oh ya..back to that familiar person. i was actually trying to recall where i've seen him and what's his name. I went up to him after the tour finished. He must have been terrified! i asked him where was he from without even introducing myself. Haha.. Bingo! i got all my suspicions right! His name's jason. He was in PJC as well as Kranji! Err.. but he's a malaysian.. Haha doesn't matter anyway. The thing is we didn't have any luck in being in the same class as each other during those years.. Now that we're both in curtin, we're also NOT going to the same course. Haha.. tough luck! He's doing nanotechnology while i'm doing commerce. How cool is that? Lol.. we talked about 1 hr plus before i took the bus home. Exchanging hp numbers before we said goodbye.

I learnt that he didn't have the intention of going to curtin. He wanted to go Wollongong instead. It's somewhere near sydney.. Have you heard of that place? i didn't.. (-.-)?? The reason he gave was quite complicated. Erm..not really. I found it stupid rather than complicated. I shall not blog it down. It's quite a sensitive issue. But if i were him, i'll just forget about Wollongong and stay in curtin. But you know what, his interest isn't even in nanotechnology! Man..this guy is crazy. He prefers mechanical engineering but his dad told him nanotechnology is "special". Haha! Who knows? He may switch to Wollongong after this semester.

I had spaghetti again for lunch. My aunt had the onions cut up in big pieces. Normally, i wouldn't eat BIG slices of ONIONS. If there was someone else eating with me, i would throw it to them with any chance i've got wahaha!! But i actually liked the crunchy and sweet taste. i know someone else close to me who does=) Heex.. onions are my BEST FRIENDS now!

Did i mention i had vodka too?? Haha!!! i got it as a farewell gift from dean.. sweet! Oops! i don't think i was supposed to say that.. Haha.. Mmm never tasted vodka before. Wonder what it's like. I haven't touched it since my arrival ah! But it looks very nice. Plus it's orange!! Heh heh.. my favourite colour. Should i drink it? *wink wink* =P

Oh! That reminds me.. i almost broke a plate today after dinner.. Jason la! He hugged my waist from behind AGAIN! Haha! Err.. this guy is my cousin by the way. Not the one i met in school. Lol..My cousin's a MEANIE! He said i owe him $10000 and a hug. and the rest of my money =( well he got his hug already.. That's it! No more!

Day 15

It was freaking cold today.. the wind didn't spare us. Honestly, this is the 1st time i've experienced such cold air blowing at my face. It's very contradicting cos' u have the sun shining down on you and the wind blowing at you at the same time. So u don't really know whether to say it's cold or warm.. mind you, you can NEVER say hot here..oh wait, actually you can. i experienced REALLY hot sun while waiting for a CAT bus in the city..even worse than s'pore's. it's scorching hot. Practically just burning your skin.. No kidding! But at the same time there's the cold wind blowing.. Weird right? i'm just thankful i haven't experienced rain and wind together. But i will.. when i start school which is tomorrow? Oh no!!! the weather forecast reports show that this whole week is gonna be raining! Lucky i only need to go to school tomorrow and thursday for orientation. Haha! while amanda has to go to school everyday from tue onwards. Aiyah.. but i still have to start school proper the following week.. no difference.. since winter spells RAIN and WIND..

i look like an idiot now.. wearing so many pieces of clothing. 1 shirt, winter pyjamas (shirt and pants), a jacket. not forgetting undergarments haha! plus 1 pair of socks and my HUGE matching piggy slippers, as well as 2 gloves while typing this entry. Haha i look so stupid. Sorry you can't see me in this outfit cos' i REFUSE to take a picture of myself. if i do, i'll just embarrass myself. NO WAY! =P ok i'll be kind.. i'll show you my slippers? Heex.. well that's the best i can do=)

And did i tell ya i forgot to change into my outing socks when going out? Lol.. i mean how can you blame me for forgetting when i'm always wearing socks at home? It's just so convenient to walk out of the house thinking that u have socks on already. Oh.. but these socks are different. These are meant for home use. Haha..

Sianz.. i have to wake up early tomorrow for orientation. Why does the travelling journey have to be so damn long?? i take about 1 hr 30 mins to get to school. Far from the 1/2 hr i used to take to get to pioneer JC. i'm super nervous.. i wonder how long it'd take me to make friends? you know la.. i'm the super shy type. It's gonna be difficult.. real difficult..

Day 11

Today marks the last day of the week that i can go out.. because the rest of the week is gonna be raining, meaning u'd freeze to death if you step out of the house. And i may not be able to use the laptop nor house phone. According to my aunt, if i use the laptop when there's a thunderstorm, i'd be electrocuted! Same thing for the house phone.. Wao.. i'd like to try that.

When we left the house this morning, a neighbour's shih-tzu down the road came running towards us sniffing our legs. So cute ah! haiya..forgot to take a photo of it. i went to town again with my sister. Oh.. are you wondering why she's so free? haha.. cos' she's done with her exams last wk and she's having her holidays now. On the Kwinana freeway (highway to town), i snapped a lovely picture of the sea. But can't really see cos' my stupid phone has no zoom function for taking normal pictures. i tell ya.. the sea level is so high la! As if the road and the sea are almost at the same level with each other. i wonder what will happen on a rainy day?? i can't imagine.. Eeks! i'm not taking the freeway if there's a thunderstorm.

Our 1st stop was the london court. Chey.. my sister say as if london court was so nice. It was nothing much really. The shops there were mainly souvenir shops (and i mean they sell australian souvenirs, not london things). London court was just a walkthrough. You enter as fast as you exit.. So dampening..

One tip : Don't get shoes from australia. They're damn expensive! One plain looking pair of flats there cost A$60. crazy ah! Why the prize so exorbitant one? i can simply get a nicer one for just S$15 in s'pore. Geez.. Mmm but they have boots. Lots of them on the shelves!

We also witnessed a peaceful protest against clones. You could see pple of all ages carrying signboards or handling out flyers. Even kids as small as 4,5 years old. I'm not kidding.. This is the first i've ever seen.

And guess what? i got a tattoo too!! On my neck.. Ahaha! temporarily one la.. it's a sunflower. Initially i thought it was a sun.. Heh! Cheat my feelings.. i decided to get one as it was free. it's at city beach - "Free tattoos from 1.30pm-3.30pm". It was a clean and simple job

actually. The guy just placed the template on my neck and sprayed on it. i thought it would go off once i bathed cos' my sister got one some time back and she said once water touches it, it'd go off. But it didn't lei.. Maybe cos' i didn't scrub it. i just bathed normally, just not touching the tattoo. Cool..

A security guard pissed me off today. We wanted to go into the shop because the clothes inside were real cheap. But he stopped us, asking us to take out our wallet and leave our bags at the front of the shop. Siao ah! i don't see anyone else doing that. How come the rest can bring their bags in and we can't?! At first, we took our things out but then i really can't stand the security guard's attitude plus it was risky to leave our bags outside. Australia's not as safe as s'pore u know.. So i told my sister to forget about that shop and scoot off. Like who would want to steal clothes that were so cheap? That person must be stupid then. i'd go for branded stuff if i were him. Hehe.. just kidding! i wouldn't even do that at all..

Before going home, we went to the neighbouring playground to play for a while. See the 2 monkeys? Cute anot? Haha..

Day 10

HaRRy PoTTeR wAs A diSaStEr..

We caught the 10.30am show. It was the 2nd harry potter screening for that day. Thank goodness we chose that time! Because by the time we got to the ticket booth, all the other timings for the movie were fully booked!! So fast la! Actually the 9.30am show was also available but we missed it . Heng ar! But the show was a total flop. Waste my 9 bucks!

U know why tickets were sold so fast? Because it's a tuesday. All tickets on a tuesday are A$9. Otherwise, it's A$11 (concession price) for other days. Super expensive! i can't imagine i actually complained so much about the S$9.50 we had to pay on wkends back in s'pore. But the good thing here is that even if u've bought your tickets late, you can still get good seats if you go into the cinema early. It's free seating!! And you can actually switch to another cinema after you're done watching the show because you exit from the cinema the same way you enter. oops! Haha..

I had pretzels for lunch. Original salted flavour.. Their pretzels are huge! And filling.. Yum=) But it'll make you extremely thirsty after that. cos that's what happened to me.. Haha..

i miss having a shoulder to lie on.. i realli do.. my sister ALWAES lies down on my shoulder to sleep on the way home in the bus. Then i cannot sleep la! if not we'll miss our stop. So evil..Hmph..!

Day 9

Nothing much happened today. My aunt brought us to the chinese shop to get stuff again and i had to go to the bank. But i've got photos of jason's GREENIE and of him and greenie together. Haha! Heard from my aunt that he just recently took greenie out because all of us had soft toys and he didn't. LOL..aiya, kids are like that one la..

After everything was done, we went home for lunch. The rest of the day was really boring. For some reason, the afternoon was chilly. So my sister and i crashed onto the bed for a nap. i shouldn't have slept la! Should have gone online.. Haiz. Oh! Amanda took out her guitar today. Missed her playing=) We sang along as she played a few songs. She's quite good la.. i should get her to teach me how to play. anywayz, i'll be pretty bored if i don't learn anything new. Perth's a boring place.. (-.-)Zzz I also can't buy a keyboard because there's simply no space for it in my room. Sianz.. But guitar's quite cool too! i hope i'll be able to pick up a few songs then play for you pple when i get back ok??

My grandma so funny ah! She scolded my sister for buying another bar of chocolate. i mean, the chocolate was on sale, that's why we bought it! Instead she said that my sis will get fat if she eat so much. Oh this part is funny! She said in chinese, "ma2 yi3 bu4 hui4 yao2 wo3, ma2 yi3 hui4 yao2 ni3 ah!" You know why she said that? That's because she never liked us eating chocolates in the room in the 1st place. What a weird way to put the message across, don't you think?

Day 8

SHOPPING IN TOWN!

Church service here was almost the same back home. Just that some songs are sung differently. And they don't raise and hold hands when singing the "Our Father's" song. Well.. i raised my hands=) When amanda saw me doing that, she then raised and held my hand. Tis gal ah..

After that, we took a bus into town. my sis first brought me to TAKA japanese restaurant to eat lunch. The meal was heavenly ah! i had agodoshi tofu set while she had tuna set. Agodoshi tofu's actually fried tofu dipped in some kind of sauce. Shiok sia..The good thing about this restaurant is that not only the food's great but the price is really cheap too.. our set lunches were only about $6. well, it is not cheap back at home considering that we still have to convert this amount to singapore dollar but a normal meal in australia is about $8-10. That's w

hy.. Oh ya..they do not have waiters there too. It's self-service. Do you know how it's done? They give you this flat electronic device after you've placed your order and paid for it. Go and find a seat and then wait for the device to beep, after which u can collect your food at the counter. Cute right? But that device can get pretty annoying..especially when there are so many pple waiting for their orders. Beep beep beep everywhere!!! Then hor.. i wanted to drink my soup but realised there wasn't a spoon. Turns out that you aren't supposed to use a spoon to drink your soup. You drink it from the bowl itself. Haha..Interesting huh?

After lunch, we went to harbourtown. Found out after i got there that i actually went to that place before. During the last march holidays trip.. so boring..Well, i managed to get a jacket and a long sleeve shirt though. If not amanda will be screaming at me for always taking her clothes. No choice la gal.. When we're done, we went back to the bus stop to see how much longer till the next bus arrives. Oh Perth has this electronic timer at bus stands that tells you the amount of time left till the bus arrives. Really good for helping pple to manage their time.. We saw that there was 15 mins left so we went back into the shoppin centre because it was very cold outside. So we went into a book store and checked out the horoscope book. We were very engrossed in the book, laughing and talking to each other as we read the stuff inside. Lyk "how to get rid of a taurus"!!! my sis's a taurus by the way.. getting rid of her now will be easy.. muahahaha!

We ended up missing the bus la!! But it didn't seem like we spent alot of time in the bookstore. Haha.. time passes really quickly when you're enjoying something. When we went out again, the time shown on the electronic timer was 38 mins!! argh!! amanda i wanna kill u!!! But heyz! the timer wasn't accurate either.. the time jump veri quickly ah! one min it was 30 mins left.. the next min it was 25 mins. scary o.. cannot trust these things next time.

Day 6

Happie Bdae Selina!!

Today's my cousin's bdae. I thought we were going to celebrate her birthday later in the day because my aunt said they were going to buy a cake. But noopz.. amanda and i only learnt the next day that they had celebrated her birthday the day before. WITHOUT US! oh man.. how could they not have informed us? It makes us feel as if we're not part of their family. If selina didn't take out her box of cake to eat, we wouldn't have known that they had celebrated her birthday already. the cake was half-eaten somemore.. So sad ah..!

Today was also the veri 1st time i went to sch myself. i thought i would be late for the enrolment cos' the bus ride was longer than usual. Made me nervous for nothing lor.. Anywayz.. i reached there early. but i had to find my way to the business school which is at the opposite end of the campus. The university is huge! All universities are huge i guess.. haha.. i had to rely on the campus map to find my way. And i thought enrolment would be done solely in that building but nooo... i had to choose my units in that building, then head to the opposite building to plan my timetable. Then go to another building that is practically somewhere else to do my ID card (i got confused on my way there). The lady didn't even tell me in advance that she was going to take my photo. She told me to just take a seat. But later on, she said smile and then snap! Geez! i wasn't even prepared la! u could actually see my bag strap resting on my shoulder in my ID card. How awful..After that, i still had to go to the bookshop to get my smartrider card(bus card). Oh! the bus system here actually works almost the same way as s'pore's. They have the tap-card reader as well..but the weird thing is you won't be charged again when you board other buses within 2 hrs. Cool right?! Plus cat buses (buses that take you throughout town) are FREE!

On the way home, i forgot whether i was supposed to cross the road to take the bus there. So i called my sister but she didn't pick up my call! Anyway, i decided to take my chances and went to the opposite stand. Oh.. just a side track. Not every bus stop has a bus shelter. Some only have a short pole with the bus stand number to indicate it as a bus stop. Isn't that sucky?? And the buses here operate every 1/2 hr. which means if you miss the bus, you'd have to wait another 1/2 hr for the next one. wkends even worse ah! 1 hr intervals.. wait until can die ah.. oops! where was i? mmm.. i realised later that my sis returned my call but i didn't notice it ringing. So i called her again.. and once more she didn't answer it. Aiyoyo.. wait for her to pick up i die already..maybe by the roadside. haha!!

mmm...did i tell you guys about my other cousin Jason? He likes to hug me alot..when i 1st came.. thank goodness he doesn't do that anymore. but i can't say about the future

.. he hugs me at my waist from the back somemore, when i'm not noticing. Damn ticklish ah! And he's quite a pervert..i shall not elaborate lest i gross u pple out. well..it freaked me out. During dinner, he also carresses my feet wif his feet, just because i sit opposite him at the dining table. disgusting right? Thank goodness i have my socks on!! No wonder amanda told me to sit there when i came. She used to sit there too. i get her point now.. i'll have to endure until sharon comes then.. i'm gonna ask her to sit there when she comes over. Wahahaha.. That's provided we're still staying at their place. i hope not..my cousin's not all that bad actually. he's quite cute..sometimes he asks me this question, "Charmaine, are you sexy?" i was stunned the 1st time i heard that coming out from his mouth! Or "Are you hot, charmaine?" Haha.. damn funny guy ah..my life's gonna be REAL interesting..

Day 5

Went to a chinese shop today. thank goodness they have such shops in australia! i can still get some of the goodies i like in s'pore here.. like s'pore tidbits, noodles. Oh! and chilli!!! can't live w/o it..bought a bottle but nea... the spicyness can't be compared to back home. maybe i should try the indonesian sambal chilli the next time round. ;P perhaps it'd be spicier?? hehe..

my aunt is damn calculative ah..or paranoid for that matter. we have to switch off the switch for the main internet supplier, the router and everything else, after we're done using the internet. like halo??? i don't remember doing that back at home.. is there a need to?? internet bills have to be split into 3 portions - her family's, amanda's and my usage. we're relatives!!! Do you have to be that calculative? argh..anyways, we're not that close either. Maybe because we have been staying apart ever since we were born, that is until now. heater also cannot use for very long because she says it uses up alot of electricity and it's costly. i'm freezing like nobody's business and i can't use the heater? u've got to be kidding me.. And c'mon, like who records down on a piece of paper the number of calls you make and the duration of the call in this century? never in my whole entire life have i heard of anyone doing this. Have you? That's ridiculous ah! Even my mum agrees. She told my aunt specifically not to monitor her daughters' calls and gave her $15 out of the usual $25 she pays for phone bills to seal her lips. I salute you mama!!

Oh.. how i miss my mum. i'd gladly do anything to be back home receivin her nagging than the ones i get here. The atmosphere in this household is just so stifening.. i can't wait to go home. everyday they'd be at least 1 complaint. i really wonder how they can come up with a new complaint everyday. no wonder my sister can't stand them at all since she first joined them in april. i'm so lucky i have her when i come over. and she's glad too that i'm FINALLY here..so that we can talk behind their backs everytime we turn in for bed. Evil right? Muahaha.. ok.. i shall try to be nice.

Day 2

Thank U For That Compliment!

i went to my sister's sch today. i didn't want to! but i had no choice.. my aunt wanted to lock up the house and she didn't want me at home because i wasn't familiar with the house yet. So yea.. i dragged my feet to her sch.. fearing i'd look stupid in front of her friends, tagging alongside. The morning air was cold,with occasional winds. i had to wear my gloves. Even then, i was still shivering badly. Hey, it's only my 2nd day!

This was the 1st photo i took since my arrival.. Haha very act cute right??

Oh.. but just a simple compliment brightened up my morning. Hehe.. we met amanda's friend on the bus on the way to sch. And when both of us introduced each other, he actually said i look really young for one who is going to curtin. wahaha.. thanks ah! And did he mention i look younger than my sister? cool..! sorry manda.. pls don't kill me for putting this up. Heex..

I'm so glad she only had a 2 hr exam paper. After which she could go off.. Phew! i would have to stay in the library and be bored to death if she had to spend the whole day in sch. The interesting thing about australian schools is that pple from different countries go to sch there. you have the japanese, koreans, hong kees, m'sians and even africans! Erm.. the sad thing is you hardly see s'poreans. Huh! Maybe cos' s'pore's education is good enough?? see.. i'm praising s'pore now.. now that i'm gone. sometimes you don't realise the good things you have until you lose it. well, i guess that's really true..so guys, cherish wadeva s'pore has given you=) seriously.. everything here is damn expensive. A normal meal costs about 8-10 aussie dollars!! a ticket to the movies is 11! only if it's concession. if not it's 12.. they're crazy! come to think of it, 7% GST is a mere sum to 15% here..so yar..count your blessings!

i had kebabs for lunch. See the photos my sister "helped" me to take?? Looks lyk a comedy actually.. i have potential for acting. Ahaha!

Day 1

Yup.. that was the day i left for perth. The crowd that sent me off was bigger than what i had expected. My family members, extended family, sec sch and JC friends. And erm..2 of my JC classmates' boyfriends. haha.. well.. that was weird but hey! That made the group even bigger. hehe..

i'm glad i had the chance to hug almost everyone. i didn't have the opportunity to hug my sis when i sent her off the last=( A CERTAIN SOMEONE also said he wanted to give me my hug and kiss but he was not amongst those i've hugged. Hmph!! haha.. just kidding lar.. anywayz, that was a joke to start with.

You should have seen everyone's faces after i entered the departure gate. So sad la.. i didn't get to see cos' i was struggling with my stuff and also cos' i didn't want to look back lest i break down. i had underestimated the load i had to hand-carry. Damn heavy ah!! my arms were already aching so badly when i had to lunge all my things to the waiting area. my mum told me to leave my farewell gifts behind but i didn't want to. they're all nice gifts!!! how could i bear to leave it at home to rot and let it wait for my return?? But thanx alot guys.. i luv all of them to bits! oh.. and i had a screw-up even when i was leaving. as if leaving wasn't bad enough..

So sorry guys.. i feel so bad for not being able to eat the cake ur bought me ah!! i only took one teeny tiny bite somemore. Should have taken a enormous bite then! haiz..

1st screw-up : i was asked by security to remove the scissors in my pencil case after they scanned my things. so malu can.. i had to come out of the departure gate again to pass the scissors to my mum. i totally forgot we aren't allowed to hand-carry sharp items! my mind was just focused on packing all the stuff i need for my stay in perth. so paiseh lor.. i didn't even dare to look at all their faces.

2nd screw-up : i shldn't have put a padlock on da computer bag. How stupid of me! It had me searching for my key in my wallet which was somewhere in my bagpack because the laptop had to be taken out of the bag. Plus i had to remove my mp3 and handphone too.. i think there was a long queue behind me. then again, i didn't want to see how long was it. later pple curse me more! LOL..

3rd screw-up : wait..that wasn't my screw-up, it was the steward's. he didn't give me my lunch!!! guess it was because he was really tall and i was short and small. i don't blame him for not seeing me when his head was nearly touching the top of the plane! i'm not kidding.. who ask me to be so short?? Haha..anyway, i was not in the mood for lunch either, so i didn't bother to ask them for it. But i got hungry at about 1. Lucky they served ice cream. my life-saver!! i needed energy for the 2nd part of my journey. if not i think i'd just collapse halfway. it was that bad..heyz..my luggage was 25.5kg ok. and i had to carry it off da belt and onto the trolley. and onto the scanner!!! i wished i could just die then..where are guys when u need them huh?

4th screw-up : i went to the line for australian passport holders. how blur can i get?? well.. i guess i wasn't in the right state of mind after so many INTERESTING things happened to me. only realised last minute that i was in the wrong line when i noticed all the pple in my line were carrying blue passports. i thought i was supposed to go to that line cos' i was a PR. In the end, i crossed over to the other side and the queue was super long!! mmm..blur means blur la! lyk SOMEONE alwaes says i am.. i don't think i can ever correct this part of me ba..if i did, i wldn't be the same person. u guys wldn't want that right? =P

i came out of the arrival gate just to receive a scolding from my sister for taking so long inside..lyk c'mon.. i was lost enough already. But seeing her physically was all worth it..she's fairer now.. *snigger* she doesn't like it when i say that of her. wahahaha!!! And i experienced the cold air there for the 1st time when i exited the airport. phew.. refreshing.. but it wldn't be for the next few days. i was practically suffering..
