updates on my application progress - seems that i passed the verbal and numerical test! got the call later that night on the same day i took the test. the verbal test (32 qsns) and numerical test (20 qsns) were 20 mins each. left 1 blank in the verbal test and 8 qsns blank in the numerical test.. argh!! not enuff time to do la.. so much calculations. and i cant believe i passed. the recruitment manager told us b4 the test that there were 1000 over applications but only 120 were chosen to do the test..

WAH~~~ i feel so lucky wor.. fancy being chosen out of 1000 over pple.. mmm. feeling rather happy that i get this opportunity. but as soon as i got the call that i passed, i had a dreaded feeling.. i didnt want to do the interview. i was scared.. especially when its an interview wif one of the big 4 accounting firms in australia. moreover, there was a group activity session to follow up after the interview. there was so little time to prepare, given that she only called on monday evening and i had to come down to the office on wednesday morning.

so todae, i dressed up very formally, borrowing a black business coat from my friend (gotta get one myself soon, keep on borrowing from her =X ) wore heels tho' i knew i wldnt b comfortable. but it's all for giving a gd impression.. went there early and saw someone familiar (thank goodness!) it was my sister's friend, megan.. we met at one of the clubbing events and amanda introduced me to her.. it helps to noe that u have someone who shares ur anxiety and is about to go thru the same thing as u..

there were 8 of us during that time slot. we were split into 2 grps. one group goes for the interview first while the other goes for the group activity. megan and i happen to be in the same group, scheduled to go for the interview first. we were each allocated an interviewer in the same room, separated by partitions. i got a UK guy who has worked in ernst and young for 10 yrs and he travelled to a few countries to do accounting work. interview will take place for 45 mins!!! argh i felt like that entire 45 mins was the longest time of my life! he asked alot of qsns which i did not anticipate at all.. and i tot i was prepared. haiz..

the group activity session was even worse! another 45 mins! but i tink we overexceeded the time limit.. we were placed in a committee meeting atmosphere - company has a budget of $900,000 to spend on 3 initiatives that it wans to implement. and we had to choose from many initiatives, weighing the pros and cons of each one. then halfway thru, one of the staff told us that the company has decided to cut back on its budget, so now we only have $300,000 to focus on one initiative. hence, we have to decide on one and only one.. damn! it was the most nerve-wrecking session. another longest time of my life! all of us had to contribute.. if we didnt speak up, we'll just lose points. all of us were under the scrutiny of 3 staff who were accessing us while we were discussing. so scary la~

i dun tink i did well. the recruitment manager said she'll call us to give us the gd or bad news either tmr or friday.. somehow, i got a feeling it will not be gd news.. =( maybe i'm not ready for a career yet.. mmm..

i've not put up a photo of myself for quite some time and tot u'd b interested to noe how i look in formal wear for the first time.. so yea.. enjoy! hehe.. bought the top very last min.. had to wear a tube inside cos shirt quite low cut. heex..

oh that reminds me, wl pulled an april fool's joke on me.. i totally forgot today was Apr 1st. he sms-ed me early tis morn when i was on my way to the interview that he saw a leopard on the road. said the zoo reported an animal to have escaped from the zoo.. and i believed him -.- why do i always do that?! grrrr....
